A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the licensing inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this SHSI. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
All staff who work directly with children shall have within 90 days of the date of
employment or 90 days from subsidy vendor approval have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.

Staff #1, Staff #2 and Staff #4, all of which who have been employed for more than 90 days did not have documentation of having a current certification in CPR.
Plan of Correction: The vendor has the staff who do not have current CPR/First aid training schedule to attend this month.

Staff who work directly with children shall, in addition to preservice and orientation training required in subsections A through D of this section, annually complete the department's health and safety update course.

Staff 2 who has been employed for 6 years did not have documentation of taking the required annual pre-service update training.
Plan of Correction: Vendor is working on staff completing the annual update training. The certificate will be maintained in the record.
