Inspector Notes

A VA 22.1-289.031 code compliance monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:45 am - 11:45 am. There were 13 children in care being supervised by 4 staff. The children were observed participating in center activities and art projects. A total of four children's records and four staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 22.1-289.031-A-4
Based on review of four staff records it was determined that not all staff had documentation of a staff health report on file. Evidence: There was no staff health report on file for staff A (start date: 03/14/24).
Plan of Correction: A staff health report will be provided for staff A.
Standard 22.1-289.031-B-5
Based on observation it was determined that not all areas were free of hazards. Evidence: 1.) A large container of disinfectant solution was observed on the bathroom floor of the four year old room. 2.) A bottle of hand sanitizer was observed on a table in the three year old room accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: The chemicals will be locked and kept inaccessible to children.
