Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 2:30 pm-3:30pm. 3 children were in direct care and supervision of 6 staff members present. The children were observed resting after arriving to the program and taking a walk in the gym. 2 children's records and 1 new staff member's record was reviewed. The center's emergency drill records and first aid supplies were also reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Based on records review, the center did not have a written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction.
Evidence:
1. Child # 1's record indicated that she had a diagnosed food allergy.
2. A written allergy action plan was not obtained from a physician to include what steps were to be taken in the event Child #1 was suspected or confirmed to be having an allergic reaction.
