Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews, and a virtual tour of the program.

This inspection was initiated and concluded on 10/03/2021. The Director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 61 children present, ranging from 5 months to 6 years in age, with 12 staff supervising, within 7 classrooms. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children records, and 5 new staff records were reviewed.

New requirements became effective on October 13, 2021. The facility has not yet fully complied with the following requirement: 8VAC20-780-160.A.2 - Tuberculosis screening for staff; this documentation shall have been completed within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment (5 of 5 staff files reviewed indicated that these new staff had TB documentation outside of this 30 day window from their designated date of employment). The facility is to review the new requirements and work with their assigned inspector to ensure future compliance.

The information gathered during the inspection determined that there was not a violation to an applicable standard, code, and/or law. Therefore, a Violation Notice was not issued.
