Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-11:10am. There were 54 children directly supervised by 8 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, doing a worksheet activity, and building with manipulative toys. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

5Evidence:
Staff 3's hire date is listed as 8/7/2023. The fingerprint criminal record check results were received by the center on 8/14/2023.
Evidence:
Staff 1 has been hired for a period longer than 90 days and has not completed the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course.
Evidence:
Staff 1, 2, and 3 did not complete all required components of the orientation prior to the staff member working alone with children.
Evidence:
The corners of two carpet tiles were observed to be peeling off of the floor and sticking up creating a tripping hazard in the infant room.
Evidence:
An art instillation in the infant room was observed to have cotton balls within reach of mobile infants.
