Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on February 23 2023 between 11:30am and 12:30pm. There were 34 children in the direct care of 5 staff members. Children were observed, playing on the playground, washing hands, and having snack. A review of new hire paperwork, children's records, staffing records, the preparedness plan, emergency drills, attendance, the first aid kit, medications, and the physical space was conducted. Based on record review, the center did not conduct an out of state central registry check for an employee that, within the last five years, lived in a state outside of Virginia.

Evidence: Staff #1 stated in a background check document that Staff #1 lived in another state within the last five years. Documentation of a central registry search from that state was no t available for review in the employee's record.
