Inspector Notes
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted today. A total of 86 children with 15 staff were onsite. Observation of 6 out of 7 classrooms was made today. The children were observed transitioning from lunch to nap time. Smooth transitions were observed as staff assisted children to their cots, sat with them and were observed gently patting backs of children to encourage sleep. Staff were spaced strategically throughout the classroom to ensure adequate supervision during nap time. Some infants were observed sleeping in cribs while some were playing and interacting with staff on the carpeted area. Handwashing and diapering procedures were observed during the inspection in several classrooms. The center was decorated with current arts and projects completed by children that coincided with the weekly activity schedules which were posted and current. A total of 4 children's records, 6 medications and 3 staff records were reviewed. CPR/First Aid certification was verified for each classroom. This inspection occurred between 11:45am and 2pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virignia.gov with any questions.
