Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 4/19/2021. The director was contacted by video conferencing application to initiate the inspection. Staff to child ratios were found to be in compliance. A virtual tour was conducted of the program and classrooms were observed to determine compliance. A sample of staff and children's records were reviewed as well as emergency preparedness plans, supplies and drills.

The information gathered during the inspection determined a violation with applicable standards or law. Violations issued on attached Violation Notice.

The licensing inspector has reviewed with the program COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Based upon record review, the program did not complete Out of State background searches for staff as required.

Staff A whose start date was 11/23/2020 did not have an Out of State Child Abuse and Neglect Search Requested by the end of the 30th day of employment on record at the time of the inspection ( 4/19/2021) :
