Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:45 am - 12:45 pm. There were 11 children in care with the provider and one assistant for a total of 12 points. The children were observed participating in free play and table-top activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of four child records and two staff records were reviewed.

Standard 8VAC20-800-700-C
Based on review of medication it was determined that medication was not picked up by the parent within 14 days when an authorization for medication expires. Evidence: The emergency medication for child A that was on site was accompanied by a medication authorization form which expired on 10/27/2022.
Plan of Correction: The provider notified the parent of the expired medication authorization form during the inspection. The parent of child A will complete a new authorization form.
