During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.
Inspector Notes
An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 4/8/2025. The on-site inspection began at 11:40 am and ended at 2:00 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 12 children present and 2 caregivers; the point total was 16. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 3 caregiver/household member(s) records on-site. This inspection included document review, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 4/22/2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.
Standard 8VAC20-800-210-A
Caregivers shall obtain a minimum of sixteen clock hours of training annually in areas relevant to their job responsibilities. Caregiver #1 only had 5 of the 16 required hours and Caregiver #2 had only 7 of the 16 required hours.
Plan of Correction: Providers #1 and 2 will obtain the additional training.
Standard 8VAC20-800-320-G
Fireplaces and associated chimneys shall be inspected annually by a knowledgeable inspector to verify that the devices are properly installed, maintained, and cleaned as needed. Documentation of the inspection and cleaning shall be maintained by the provider. There was no documentation of an annual inspection.

Standard 8VAC20-800-50-A
Providers must keep a written record of children in attendance each day. Three of the children in attendance were not marked in on the attendance sheet.

Standard 8VAC20-800-70-A
Before the child's first day of attendance, parents shall be provided required information in writing. The parents of Children #1, #2, 3, 4, and #5 were not provided in writing the following required information: policies for the administration of medication, and the requirement for a parent to pick up their child if they are ill. Child #1 was also missing whether or not there is liability insurance in force on the family day home operation, provisions of the family day home?s emergency preparedness and response plan, and requirement for the parent to inform the family day home within 24 hours of any reportable communicable disease. Child #4 was also missing whether or not there is liability insurance in force on the family day home operation.
Plan of Correction: MY daycare do not administer medication.Child # 1 only came for spring break she is in camp. There is liability insurance at my daycare. All other requirements are in DAYCARE PARENT RULE BOOK
Standard 8VAC20-800-800-B
The provider shall review the emergency plan at least annually and update the plan as needed. The provider shall document in writing each review and update to the emergency plan. There was no documentation of an annual review.

Children shall not be allowed to eat or drink while walking, running, playing, lying down, or riding in vehicles. Child #5 was drinking from their bottle while walking around.
