Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review and interview.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 02/28/2022 and concluded on 03/04/2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 35 children present, ranging in ages from 1 year to 5 years, with 8 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record reviews, the facility failed to ensure that prior to employment or volunteering, all persons who work alone with children have completed fingerprint background checks.
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed three staff records. Staff record #1 contained fingerprint based background check results dated 03/02/2022. Staff #1's date of employment was 01/17/2022.
Staff record #2 did not contain results of a fingerprint based background check and staff's date of employment was 11/18/2021.
Plan of Correction: Staff #2 had fingerprint checks completed on 03/04/2022. In the future, staff will have fingerprint checks completed and the results obtained before employment begins.
