Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 11/09/2023. There were 3 children present and 2 Caregivers. A tour of the home was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with Caregivers. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-240-A
Based on observation the center did not ensure all area and furnishings of the family day home were maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
The swing located in the backyard had rusted hardware.
Plan of Correction: The hardware on the swing will be replaced.
Standard 8VAC20-800-780-B
Based on a record review the licensee did not ensure there was documentation that the emergency contact information required in 8VAC20-800-60 B 2 to ensure the information is correct was reviewed with the parent.

Evidence:
Child #1 was enrolled on 10/05/2022. The licensee did not have documentation that of a first year review with the parent to ensure emergency contact information was correct.
Plan of Correction: This was an oversight. The licensee will review the child's application and obtain signature for the first year review.
