Inspector Notes

An in-person mandated complaint investigation was conducted on March 1, 2023 from 4:20pm until 5:00pm regarding ratio in the afternoon. Interviews and observations were conducted. There was not a preponderance of evidence to support the allegation regarding ratio therefore the complaint is not-valid.

There were 16 children in care with 2 staff supervising. Children were observed playing on the playground, lining up to go back inside and sitting to listen to a read aloud conducted by a teacher complete with voices for the characters in the book. The transition from the playground to the classrooms was structured and orderly. Children knew where to line up and it is clear that the routines are strong. Teachers reminded students to bring their show and tell items back into the classroom. Communication between parents and teachers at pick up was viewed to be positive.

The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.
