Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on September 7, 2022 on site from 10:00 A.M.-12:30 P.M., and concluded on September 9, 2022 after reviewing requested documentation. There were 30 children present, ranging in ages from four months to four years of age, with six staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and six staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-240-A
Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that the Virginia Department of Education sponsored orientation course was completed within 90 days of employment.

Evidence:
1. Staff #1's date of employment was 03/03/2022. The training certificate was dated 06/24/2022. The training was required to be completed by 06/03/2022.
2. Administration verified the date of employment and the date the training was completed.
Plan of Correction: In the future administration will request that the training be required within 60 days of employment to ensure that compliance is met.
