Inspector Notes
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/26/2021 and concluded on 05/11/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 119 children and 43 staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed 5 children's records, 5 complete staff records, the background check requirements for 1 newly hired staff, and 3 medications during the inspection to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Violations
1Evidence: The record for Staff #3 contained a hire date of 04/26/2021 and a fingerprint eligibility letter dated 06/05/2016. Staff #7 stated that Staff #3 had been previously employed by the center from 08/08/2016-08/10/2018. The Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies states that a background check remains valid at a facility if no more than 12 consecutive months have passed from when a person begins a leave of absence from a facility. Since more than 12 consecutive months passed during the leave of absence, a new fingerprint eligibility letter upon the completion of a fingerprint background check was required.
