Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 9-25-2024 and completed on 10-2-2024. The on-site inspection began at 1:35pm and ended at 3:05pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 28 children present and 5 staff.
The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records ectronically on 10-2-2024. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 10-9-2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Staff are to complete the VDOE sponsored online orientation course within 90 days of hire. Staff #2 completed the course two months late.
Plan of Correction: Staff are assigned the Virgina Preservice Training for Child Care Staff during their new hire orientation. The agency has implemented a thirty-day check-in for newly hired staff that will ensure that all requirements are met.

When food is brought from home the food container must be clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner. Child #6 was eating snack from home and did not have their food container labeled or dated.
Plan of Correction: Health Coordinator spoke to the parent again about the regulations concerning food that is brought from home on 09/27/2024. In addition, the Health Coordinator reminded the classroom staff to check the food container to ensure its labeled and dated 09/27/2024.
