During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.
Inspector Notes
An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 12/19/2024. The on-site inspection began at 12:15pm and ended at 1:45pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were three children present and one caregiver; the point total was 11. The inspector reviewed five children?s records and two caregiver/household members records on-site.
This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Standard 8VAC20-800-210-A
In addition to satisfactory completion of first aid training and CPR training, caregivers shall obtain a minimum of sixteen clock hours of training annually in areas relevant to their job responsibilities. The caregiver stated they have not completed the required training hours.
Plan of Correction: I will complete the required annual training.
Standard 8VAC20-800-60-B
Children's records are required to contain documentation of the annual review of the child?s emergency contact information. The records for Child #4 and Child #5 did not contain documentation of an annual review of required information. Child #4 has been attending the family day home for over three years. Child #5 has been attending the family day home for over five years.
Plan of Correction: I will have the family review the information to ensure it is correct and document it the children's records.
Standard 8VAC20-800-830-A
The emergency evacuation procedures shall be practiced monthly with all caregivers and children in care during all shifts that children are in care. The caregivers stated the required emergency drills were practiced but the documentation of the completed drills could not be located.
Plan of Correction: If I cannot find the drill log, I will start a new one. All drills were completed.
Standard 8VAC20-800-90-A
Before a child may attend the family day home, the provider shall obtain documentation that the child has been adequately immunized. The records for Child #1 and Child #2 contained documentation of immunizations 17 days after the children began attending the family day home.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure all required information is collected before a new child starts.
