Inspector Notes

An unannounced inspection was initiated and completed on 7/22/25 in response to a complaint received by the licensing office on 5/26/25 relating to allegations of administration. The inspector reviewed five children?s records and zero staff records on-site. This inspection included document review and interviews. The preponderance of evidence gathered during the investigation supports the allegation(s); therefore, the complaint is determined to be valid. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 8/29/25. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-790-530-A
Staff records and children's information shall be treated confidentially.
The information for a child at the center was not treated confidentially. Photographs of Child #1 was posted on social media, when there was no consent to do so.
Plan of Correction: Regarding the photographing of children and posting on social media, we will ensure that each student is only photographed and posted with proper consent. Our social media page will be monetized, and we take great care to guarantee that no student without consent is being posted. Additionally, we will be cautious about posting group photos, as they may inadvertently include students who do not have permission.
Standard 8VAC20-790-540-B
The child's record shall include the following: permission for field trips.
The record for Child #1 did not have permission for field trips, however, the child was taken on a field trip while in care of the center.
Plan of Correction: New Hope has updated its photo and field trip consent form to include daily nature walks. This form will allow the teachers to take students off the premises and into the surrounding areas of the center from Monday-Friday during scheduled outdoor times, which may be subject to change due to weather conditions. If the parent does not want their child to participate in a nature walk, that specific child will be required to stay inside and with the director or assistant.
