Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was completed on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the center.
There were 27 children present with 7 staff supervising including administrative staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on review of staff record and interview, in 2 of 3 records the center did not ensure to have a central registry finding within 30 days of employment or volunteer service.

Evidence: 1. In Staff#1's record (date of hire: 08/22/22) there was no findings found.
2. In Staff#2's record (date of hire: 11/28/22) there was no findings found.
3. Interview with staff confirmed there was no findings for review during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: The center director will mail application for all staff.
Standard 8VAC20-780-530-A-1
Based on review of staff records, in 1 of 3 records the center did not ensure current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR for staff as appropriate to the age of the children in care.

Evidence: In Staff#2's record (date of hire: 11/28/22) there was no certification of CPR found. Interview with staff confirmed the certificate was not available for review during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: The center director will register staff for First Aid and CPR training.

Based on review of records and interview, in 1 of 3 records a current certification in first aid for staff was not found.

Evidence: In Staff#2's record (date of hire: 11/28/22) there was no current first aid certificate found. Interview with staff confirmed FA certificate was not available during the inspection.
