Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The children were observed during classroom time engaged in a lesson and observed during outside play time. The inspection started at 10:25 am and concluded at 11:41 am.

Based on record review and staff interview the center did not ensure within the first 90 days of employment or subsidy vendor approval all staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.
Evidence: The director confirmed that Staff #2 (date of hire 8/22/2022) & #3 (date of hire 8/22/2022) had not completed the preservice training.
Plan of Correction: Link to training has been sent to staff and they will complete.
