Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/20/2023 at 10:48am. There were 6 children (14 points) directly supervised by one caregiver(s). The home, 00 caregiver records, 00 child's records, household member's records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely inside the play room, watching a children's show and coloring. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Violations
5Evidence: observed an uncovered electrical outlet accessible to children in the child care bathroom.
Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that medications were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: observed a first aid kit on a lower shelf, accessible to children, with aspirin and acetaminophen tablets inside.
Evidence: observed that the provider had a first aid kit on a lower shelf, easily accessible to children in care.
Evidence: reviewed the emergency drill log and found that a shelter-in-place drill was conducted in October, but not an emergency evacuation drill.
Evidence: reviewed the provider's emergency drill log and found that they were not documenting the current/true time, weather, and time to evacuate. The same time, weather, and time to evacuate information was repeated for every drill, every month, and was not true to the day.
