Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 3:05 pm to 4:00pm. There were 45 children with 4 staff members supervising. The children were observed playing outdoors, eating afternoon snack and leaving for the day. The snack included graham crackers, mixed fruit and water. Children were also observed playing with table top toys, games and completing homework. 3 staff records, 3 children's records and other center documents were reviewed to assess compliance. Violations were cited during this inspection, and are listed on the Violation Notice. Based on observation, the license required by the Superintendent was not posted in a conspicuous place on the licensed premises.
Evidence: The most current license was not posted on site.
Plan of Correction: Site Director printed out the current license and placed it on the site licensing board.
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation, cleaning materials were accessible to children.
Evidence: A bottle of cleaning solution and two bottles of liquid spill absorbent were found sitting on a table where children could reach.
Plan of Correction: Site Director will inspect the program designated area to make sure the space clear, and or locked up of cleaning materials, and all hazardous items left out.
