Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 10:00am-11:30am. There were a total of 55 children with 12 staff members present. Children were observed during snack time, hand washing, engaged in group activities and outdoor play time. A selection of staff and children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, medications, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. 2Evidence:
1. The center did not have documentation of written procedures for prevention of shaken baby syndrome or abusive head trauma, including coping with crying babies, safe sleeping practices, and sudden infant death syndrome awareness.
2. Staff #5 confirmed that written procedures for prevention of shaken baby syndrome or abusive head trauma had not been developed.
Evidence:
1. Attendance for each group of children maintained a written record of the arrival of children, but did not record the departure of children.
