Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 1:15 pm - 3:00 pm. There were 12 children in care being supervised by two staff. The children were observed playing outdoors and eating snack. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Based on observation of the playground it was determined that the program did not ensure that the required amount (6 inches) of resilient surfacing was maintained beneath and around playground structures. Evidence: The Licensing Inspector observed bare ground with a sporadic amount of mulch underneath the climbing structure on the preschool playground.

Based on observation and staff interview it was determined that sandboxes were not covered when not in use. Evidence: It was reported that the sandbox on the preschool playground is not kept covered when it is not in use.
