Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/1/23 from 10:10 am to 11:20 am. There were 9 children (24 points) children present, with 2 caregivers supervising. The children were observed napping, eating morning snack and playing outdoors. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, special care and emergencies and nutrition. There were no children with allergies or medications on site. A total of 3 children's records and 1 caregiver's record was reviewed.

Standard 8VAC20-800-170-A
Based on records review and staff interview, the provider did not obtain each caregiver at the time of hire prior to coming into contact with children a current Report of Tuberculosis (TB) Screening.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver # 1's first day of employment was 2/27/23.
2. Caregiver # 1's record had a TB screening for which the results were not satisfactory. The provider stated that she has yet to obtain the results.
Plan of Correction: The results for the TB screening will be obtained.

Based on observation, bottles were not labeled with name and date when more than one infant was in care.
Evidence: Bottles for two infants in care were not labeled with name and date.
Plan of Correction: Bottles will fully labeled.
