Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the assistant director on June 3, 2024, beginning at 12:45 p.m. and ending at 2:55 p.m. There were 88 children, ages between 1 month and 5 years old, in the direct care of 12 staff. The children were observed during their resting/nap period. Five children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Five staff records were reviewed and in compliance. Eight medications and two allergy care plans were reviewed and in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and battery-operated radio were observed and in compliance. The most recent practice emergency evacuation drill was documented as 5/21/2024. The most recent practice shelter-in-place drill was documented as 4/17/2024. The most recent practice lockdown drill was documented as 3/8/2024. The most recent health inspection was dated 2/5/2024. The most recent fire inspection was dated 1/3/2024.

Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: The door to the mechanical room located by the TK and Pre-K classrooms was left unlocked. There were jugs of cleaning supplies that were accessible to children.
