Violations

1
Standard 22.1-289.031-B-5
The program is required to that all areas of the premises accessible to children are free of obvious injury hazards. There was a telephone located on top of a 4 foot shelf in the toddler room with the cord draped down the end of the shelf to approximately 2 feet from floor level, where the toddlers in care could access it to pull it off or become entangled in it.
Plan of Correction: The phone cord was bundled and tucked up high on top of the shelf wat the time that it was observed. Staff will ensure that phone cords, or other cords are secured so that children are not able to pull on them or become entangled in them.
