Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 9/5/2024 and completed on 9/6/2024. The on-site inspection began at 11:20 am and ended at 1:31 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 18 children present and two staff. The inspector reviewed five children?s records on-site and electronically on 9/6/24. This inspection included. document review, tour of the facility, and interviews.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-260-A
Based on observation the center failed to provide to the licensing representative an annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction.
Evidence:
The most recent fire inspection is dated 5/16/2023.
Plan of Correction: The director will ask the school or fire marshal for a copy of the most current inspection.
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation the center failed to insure that hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
Located in the bathroom, in the cabinet above the dryer was a bottle of glass cleaner, not locked.
Plan of Correction: All hazardous substances will be kept locked when not in use.
