Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on July 17, 2024 from approximately 9:45 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. Forty seven children were present, ranging in ages from four months to eleven years with nine staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with an applicable standard or law, and a violation is documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 7/29/24. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website

Based on review of five staff records and interview, the center did not ensure that two staff members completed the department?s health and safety update course annually as required.

Evidence:
1. Staff #3?s date of employment was 10/20/20. The most recent documentation of completion of the department?s health and safety update course in the record was dated 2/06/23.
2. Staff #4?s date of employment was 12/14/21. The most recent documentation of completion of the department?s health and safety update course in the record was dated 2/22/22.

The Program Director acknowledged that Staff #3 and Staff #4 had not taken the class annually as required.
Plan of Correction: Director will make sure all current staff take the 3hr course immediately and upon hiring new staff will be required to complete by start date.
