Inspector Notes

An unannounced inspection was initiated and completed on March 27, 2025 in response to a complaint received by the licensing office on March 5, 2025 relating to allegations of staff qualifications, staffing and supervision, and programs. The inspector reviewed 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

The preponderance of evidence gathered during the investigation supports the allegation in programs; therefore, the complaint is determined to be valid. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on April 9, 2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website

After the first 30 minutes, children not sleeping may engage in quiet activities. Thirty minutes after nap started in the three-year-old classroom, staff #2 was observed telling children not sleeping to lay back down. Despite the licensing inspector prompting staff #2 to offer a quiet activity and staff #6, who was not responsible for supervision of the children in the classroom, suggesting staff #2 offer a book, staff #2 remained wrapped up in a blanket lying on the floor. Staff #2 and staff #6 both stated that a quiet activity is not offered after 30 minutes.
Plan of Correction: Every classroom has a charge for nap/rest time checks (15/20 to 20/25, depending on room's age). In this chart, if a child is not sleeping, the caregiver must write what they are providing for the child to do after 30 minutes. All rooms are dimmed. During the Staff meeting, it was made clear that this is not teacher's rest time but children's. After 30 minutes, they need to check and provide quiet time activities for children in their care and do the required checks to make sure children are sleeping safely.
