During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection.
Inspector Notes
An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on March 27, 2025. The on-site inspection began at 12:03 p.m. and ended at 1:50 p.m. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 32 children present and 8 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on April 10, 2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

The center shall ensure that areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, are maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. There was visible dirt and crumbs under the diaper pad on the changing table in the infant room.

Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Staff shall wash hands with soap and running water before preparing or serving food or beverages. Staff #6 did not wash hands before serving a beverage where a straw was opened and inserted. Staff in the two-year-old class did not wash hands before preparing food.
Plan of Correction: make sure all staff and children washes hands before and after lunch & snacks.

A nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing shall be used. The diaper pad in the infant room was ripped in several areas making it absorbent.

Children three years of age or younger may not be offered foods that are considered to be potential choking hazards. In the two-year-old classroom a child was served whole grapes during lunchtime. The American Academy of Pediatrics identifies whole grapes as a choking hazard.

When food is brought from home it shall be clearly labeled with the name and date. In the 4-year-old classroom there were four cups and one lunch with no name or date.
