Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on June 16, 2022 to determine the provider?s compliance with family day home standards. The inspection begin at 12:39 PM and was concluded at 1:33 PM. During this inspection, there were six children in care totaling fourteen points being cared for by one caregiver. Upon arrival the children were observed napping. The inside play area, restroom, and kitchen area were inspected. The required postings were reviewed and found to be in compliance. The first aid kit, emergency supplies, daily attendance, fire and shelter-in-place drills were reviewed. During the inspection, five children's records, the provider's records and one household member?s record was reviewed. Violations were cited and are documented on the violation notice.

Based on observation on 06/16/2022, the provider did not ensure children under two years of age and children over two years of age who are not developmentally ready to climb or descend stairs without supervision do not have access to stairs. 1. The provider had an accordion gate at the top of the stairs and second gate located at the bottom of the stairs, but both gates were sitting beside the stairs.
Plan of Correction: The provider is going to try the retractable gates to improve this situation.
