Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:50 am to 12:15 pm. There were 5 children in direct care of 4 staff members. The children were observed playing board games, completing weaving activities and using the movement room for physical activity. The children are bringing their own lunched from home, which were labeled. The center is currently providing snacks. There were no medications on site. 4 staff records, 2 children's records, attendance and drill records, the emergency preparedness plan, first aid supplies and other center documents for the renewal were reviewed.

Based on records review, the center did not maintain documentation of two reference checks for staff prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's first day of employment was 5/23/22.
2. Written documentation of 2 reference checks for Staff # 1 were not maintained in the record.
Plan of Correction: A request has been put in to the corporate office to obtain the reference checks.
