Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on September 14, 2022. There were seventy-five children present, ranging in ages from infants to five years, with ten staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and five staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review and interview, facility did not ensure 1 of 5 staff complete the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) sponsored orientation course within 90 calendars days of employment.
Evidence: The record for staff #2 (start date 5/2/2022) did not have documentation of completed VDOE sponsored orientation course. Program Director confirmed staff has begun the course but has not completed it.
