8VAC20-790 SUBSIDY REGULATIONS.

Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour of the program.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on 3/8/2022 and concluded on 3/9/2022. There were 11 children present with 3 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not ensure 1 staff had current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.

Evidence:
1. The record of staff #2 (DOH:11/14/2017) did not contain current CPR certification.
2. Administration acknowledged that the renewed certification had not been obtained.
Plan of Correction: CPR-Employee will be attending class on 3/19/2022. To ensure that all certifications are done, I will keep a log of all employees and when certifications, etc are due.

Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not ensure 1 staff had current certification in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care.

Evidence:
1. The record of staff #2 (DOH: 11/14/2017) did not contain current first aid certification.
2. Administration acknowledged that the renewed certification had not been obtained.
Plan of Correction: 1st aid- employee will be attending class on 3/19/2022. I will ensure all certifications are up to date and in file by keeping a log I will review weekly.
