Inspector Notes
A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 9:50am to approximately 12:50pm. There were a total of 42 children in care in the direct care of 11 staff members. During the inspection, the children and staff were observed participating in a variety of activities. Staff were observed having positive interactions with the children. All areas of the facility including classrooms, kitchen, hallways, playgrounds, and bathrooms were inspected. The required postings were reviewed and found to be in compliance. Medication is administered when required and medication and medication authorizations were reviewed. The center is equipped with toys and supplies and items were available to the children. During the inspection, five children's records and five staff records were reviewed.
A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

3Evidence: 1) The record for Staff #4, employed on 08/01/22, had a CPR certification that expired on 11/20/22. 2) During interview, management confirmed the CPR certification for Staff #4 was expired.
Evidence: 1) The record of Staff #4, employed on 08/01/22, had a first aid certification that expired on 11/20/22. 2) During interview, management confirmed the first aid certification for Staff #4 was expired.
Evidence: 1) The record of Staff #1, employed on 10/28/20, did not have documentation of the department's health and safety update course. 2) During interview, management confirmed the staff member did not complete the required training annually.
