Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The center had 15 children present in three groupings with 5 staff. The center has lots of supplies for the children to explore and a large playground. Interaction between staff and children observed in all the rooms. Observed playtime, lunch and getting ready for nap. A violation notice was given to the center along with this summary. Based on the review of the physical plant, the center failed to keep cleaners in a locked place.
Evidence: During the inspection the inspector found cleaning wipes under a bathroom sink, latch on cabinet would not engage to keep cabinet locked.
Cleaners accessible under the kitchen sink in the kitchen area, used as an area for children to eat lunch.
Plan of Correction: We will add locks to the cabinets.

Based on the review of the menu posted, the center has a menu that still lists catering as an option for lunch.
Evidence: The center has a menu posted that is no longer correct, children bring food from home for lunch.
Plan of Correction: We will fix the menu

Based on the observation during the inspection, food brought from home is not dated.
Evidence: Lunch boxes are identified with names but not dated.
Plan of Correction: We will make sure we ask parents to date lunch boxes.
