During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on March 10, 2025 and completed on March 10, 2025, as a part of the current licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 9:00am and ended at 10:45am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 24 children present and 13 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 child records, 5 staff records and 7 board member records on-site.

This inspection included: document review, postings review, tour of the facility and playgrounds, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

The center shall implement a monthly practice evacuation drill.

There was no documentation of a fire drill for January 2025.
Plan of Correction: January missed due to norovirus and snow closures. We will continue to conduct monthly drills.
Standard 8VAC20-790-550-2-b
Satisfactory results of the child abuse and neglect registry from any other state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.

Staff Member 1 did not have out-of-state child abuse and neglect registry results on hand, working with children for one year. Staff Member 2 did not have out-of-state child abuse and neglect registry results on hand, working with children 18 months.
Plan of Correction: Out-of-State registries have been submitted for each staff. We will continue to conduct out-of-state searches prior to employing new personnel.
