Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed from10:50 until 12:20. There were 9 children and 3 staff supervising.

The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 staff records and 5 children?s records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violation were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-320-B
Based on temperature reading, the water temperature in the classroom that the children used exceed the maximum temperature of 120 degrees.

Evidence:
The water temperature at the classroom sink measured 132 degrees.
Plan of Correction: Staff will contact maintenance to adjust the water temperature. Staff will supervise children at the faucet to ensure safety.

Based on record review, the center did not have all the required information in the children's records.
Evidence:
1. Child record #1-5 did not have emergency addresses in the record.
2. Child record #2 and #4 did not have proof oaf age and identification the record.
Plan of Correction: Staff will get the needed information form the parents.
