During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the code compliance inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in code were reviewed during this SHSI.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 03/25/2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-790-560-A
Staff shall be evaluated by a health professional and be issued a statement that the individual is determined to be free of communicable tuberculosis (TB). Documentation of the screening shall be submitted at the time of employment and prior to coming into contact with children.

Staff #2 had a tuberculosis screening dated two weeks after date of employment.
Plan of Correction: Check records of staff information closer to make certain all information is collected before their first day of employment.

Children's hands shall be washed with soap and running water after toileting and any contact with blood, feces, or urine.

A staff person in classroom 6 was changing a child?s diaper and did not wash the child?s hands with soap and water afterwards.
Plan of Correction: Staff were reminded to wipe all babies hands after every diaper change.

When a child is placed in an infant seat, high chair, or feeding table, the protective belt shall be fastened securely.

In classroom 6, four children were sitting in bucket seats at a feeding table without the protective belt fastened.

In classroom 6, one child was seated in a high chair without a protective belt fastened securely. The high chair was manufactured with seatbelts, however no protective belt was used during observation.
Plan of Correction: Replace buckle straps on the bucket seat table seats and the high chair. After washing the straps, I determined that we needed to order new ones for some of the seats. Will change up as soon as new ones get here.
