Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:15 am-11:15 am. There were a total of 50 children with 13 supervising staff members present. Children were observed during centers time, engaged in group activities and gross motor skills activities. A selection of staff and children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Based on record review, documentation was not maintained of emergency evacuation drills.
Evidence:
1. The documentation for emergency evacuation drills was missing the following information: person conducting the drill, time of the drill, method used for notification, any special conditions simulated, the time it took to complete the drill, problems encountered, if any, and weather conditions.
Plan of Correction: The center will use the department's model forms moving forward for compliance.
