Violations

2
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Based on observation, hand washing requirements were not met.
Evidence: A staff member in the Toddler A classroom was observed changing children's diapers prior to the children taking their naps. The staff member changed one child's diaper, removed the child from the changing station and began sanitizing the changing table, assisted the child in washing the child's hands, and then began changing another child's diaper. The staff member did not wash their hands after changing the first child's diaper.
Plan of Correction: We will complete health and safety reminders.
Standard 8VAC20-780-550-D
Based on record review and interview, the center did not implement monthly practice evacuation drills.
Evidence: There was no practice evacuation drill documented for the month of June 2023. Center management confirmed that a practice drill was forgotten for June.
Plan of Correction: I will start using bright colored post-it reminders to conduct the drills each month.
