Inspector Notes

A non-mandated focused inspection was conducted on July 20, 2022 from 12:50 P.M.-1:30 P.M. There were 33 children present, ranging in ages from two to twelve years of age, with six staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, and special care and emergencies. A total of two staff records, and medications were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that the Virginia Department of Education sponsored orientation course was completed within 90 calendar days of employment.

Evidence:
1. Staff #1's file did not contain documentation of the orientation training being completed. Date of hire for Staff #1 was 04/06/2022. The training was due by 07/06/2022.
2. Administration verified that the training had not been completed.
Plan of Correction: Staff will not be able to return to work until the training is completed.
