Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal study was conducted from 10:15 am - 11:30 am. There were four children in care with the provider for a total eleven points. The children were observed participating in free play activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of four child records, one household member and one provider records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation and interview with the provider it was determined that not all required documents were posted in a conspicuous place on the licensed premises. Evidence: The license for the family day home as well as the most recent inspection report was not posted in a conspicuous place in the family day home as required.
Plan of Correction: The provider will post the license and the most recent inspection in a conspicuous place.
Standard 8VAC20-800-330-A
Based on interview it was determined that the family day home did not have access to a landline telephone. Evidence: The family day home does not have a landline telephone.
Plan of Correction: The provider will obtain a landline telephone for the family day home.
Standard 8VAC20-800-790
Based on interview and observation the required emergency telephone numbers were not posted in a visible area. Evidence: The emergency telephone numbers for emergency back up care and 911 were not posted.
Plan of Correction: The provider will post the required emergency telephone numbers.
