Inspector Notes

A monitoing inspection was initiated on November 23, 2022. There were 21 children present with 3 staff supervising during the in person observation by the inspector at the center. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program

Based on observation and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure the hazordous substances were kept locked using a safe locking method prevents access by children.

Evidence : In the classroom the children were particpate in a arts and craft activiity there was chemical on counter by the sink and in the cabinet under the sink. Confirmed by staff.

Based on observation and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure the center follow medication policy to prevent use of outdated medication.

Evidence: The emergency medication for child #1 expired 10/2022. The center medication policy is to give parent expired medication with in 14 days of expiration. The center confirmed the medication policy was not followed.

Based on record review and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure the staff records kept each staff did not contain documentation to demonstrate that the individual possesses ,
certification, and experience required by the job position, and orientation.

Evidence:
The center was unable to provide the following certifications during the inspection on November 23, 2022.
Staff #1 record was missing CPR and First Aid and Va Preservice training certificates.
Staff #2 and Staff #3 record was missing CPR and First Aid certifications.
There was not a certificate for Daily Health Observation available to review during the inspection.
