An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 04/05/2022 between the hours of approximately 9:00 am through 11:10 am. There were 114 children present, ranging in ages from 2 to 5 years old, with 19 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Robles at maria.robles@doe.virginia.gov.
Violations
6Evidence:
1) The floor in front of the bathroom of Primary 109 was missing a piece making the floor an uneven area and posing a tripping hazard.
Evidence:
1) Cleaning products were observed accessible to the children as follows:
a] Primary 109 - 2 cans of Lysol aerosol and 1 container of Lysol spray were observed on the counter next to the sink.
b] Primary 108 - Clorox wipes, Lysol spray and Lysol aerosol were observed on the floor of an unlocked closet.
Due to our hourly protocol to sanitize due to COVID protocols these items are frequently used.
Evidence:
1) A purse was observed on the floor of an unlocked closet in the Toddler 2 classroom.
Purses did not contain "cosmetics, medication or other harmful agents" as describe in licensing.
