Inspector Notes
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated on January 16, 2024 and concluded on January 19. During the inspection there was one school age child in care with one staff at the onset of the inspection. Later there were three staff present with 10 children. Children were observed in play and table top games. Children's records and required on site staff record information was reviewed. Complete staff records were requested and reviewed digitally. On site required postings, emergency equipment, first aid kit and medication were reviewed. Violations regarding lack of center phone and supervision were observed and cited on the violation notice.
Violations
2Evidence:
1 - Upon calling the center number the out going message stated that the call log is full and call could not be connected.
2 - Staff #1 stated that he is unaware of a working telephone for the center at the center site.
3 - Staff #1 stated all three staff use their personal cell phones to communicate with parents.
Evidence:
1 - Upon arrival at approximately 7am there was one staff present with one child in care. By 7:30am there were at least five children present with one staff member.
2 - Staff #1 stated that he always arrives first.
3 - Staff #2 stated that his cell phone was broken. Therefore, Staff #1 could not communicate with him.
4. Staff #1 stated that he is alone when the first child arrives approximately one day per week.
