Inspector Notes

An unannounced code compliance inspection was initiated on 12/6/2022 and concluded on 12/6/2022 from 10:05 AM to 11:00 AM. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from two to five, with four teachers and one administration. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and procedures. A total of two children?s records and two staff?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on record review and interview, the center failed to establish and implement a procedure in which a daily health screening and exclusion of sick children by a person trained to perform such a screening is conducted daily.

Evidence:

1. The records of two staff were reviewed. There was no documentation of staff completing training in daily health screening.
2. The director stated staff review the steps of daily health screening and conduct the steps each day but no staff member has completed training in daily health screening.
Plan of Correction: On 12/8/22 a staff member completed training in daily health screening and will conduct daily health screening on children in care daily.
