Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:30 - 2:30 pm with staff. There were 49 children, ranging from 7 months to five years of age, present with 6 staff supervising. Children were observed napping during the inspection. Five children's records and four staff records were reviewed. One medication and it's authorization form, 5 accident reports, the emergency drill log, written attendance records, written allergy list, fire and health inspections were all reviewed. Based on observation and an interview with staff, the facility is not equipped with at least one carbon monoxide detector as required. Evidence: per staff, there was no carbon monoxide detector in the facility.
Plan of Correction: Staff stated they will install a carbon monoxide detector.
Standard 8VAC20-780-60-A
Based on review of five children's records, it was determined that not all records contained all required information. Evidence: the records for child #4 and child #5, with diagnosed food allergies, did not contain an allergy care plan.
Plan of Correction: Staff stated they will obtain the missing information.
