Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and staff interviews.

A monitoring inspection was initiated following an occurrence which was self-reported to the licensing inspector by the center on 8/4/2021. An inspection was initiated on 8/4/2021 and concluded on 11/9/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. Nine staff were interviewed over a period of several days. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staffing and supervision, programming. Three staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-80-B
Based on interviews and a review of documentation, the licensee did not file a report for any suspected incident of child abuse in accordance with ? 63.2-1509 of the Code of Virginia.
Plan of Correction: Since the incident all staff currently employed have undergone retraining in the appropriate manners of reporting. Reporting child abuse will also be covered extensively with all new employees upon their orientation. Moving forward staff will make the move to report any instances of subjected abuse immediately.
